Rep. Juan Vargas Votes to Create Millions of New Jobs, Rebuild America with Bipartisan Infrastructure Package
WASHINGTON, DC (November 5, 2021) - Today, Rep. Juan Vargas (CA-51) voted to create millions of good-paying union jobs with a once-in-a-century investment in rebuilding infrastructure, including roads and bridges, transit, rail, clean drinking water and wastewater systems and high-speed broadband networks.
"I'm proud to have voted for a bill that creates good-paying jobs and invests in our national infrastructure - our backbone for a strong economy," said Rep. Juan Vargas. "By repairing roads, and bridges, investing in public transit and rail, expanding in broadband, and securing clean water for families, we'll be creating better connections and improving resources for all of our communities."
The bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will repair and modernize crumbling and outdated infrastructure across the nation, ensuring all American communities have the infrastructure to succeed in the 21st Century economy and ending bottlenecks that add needless delays and costs for businesses bringing products to market and families traveling to school or work.

Vargas. “Democrats are delivering a transformational and bipartisan infrastructure bill that will create good-paying jobs here in California, strengthen our economy, secure cleaner air and water, and make our communities a better place to live and work by bringing our infrastructure into the 21st century.”
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act now goes to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law.
Vargas represents California’s 51st Congressional District which includes the southern portion of San Diego County, all of Imperial County and California’s entire U.S.-Mexico border. Vargas was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012 and is currently serving his fifth term in Congress. He serves on the House Financial Services Committee and House Foreign Affairs Committee.
